Wedding photography packages: Four ways to book us

Our wedding photography packages come in four collections: a full day, a half day, an elopement and an engagement shoot. Each is listed below with everything it includes. What it costs depends on your date and your venue, so we quote for your day once we know them, in writing, with no surprises after.

Four collections, side by side

Every collection is edited by hand and delivered as an online gallery you can download, share and order prints from. Ticks are included; "add on" can be added to any collection.

The extras

  • An extra hour

For a long reception or an early start. Added on the day if things run late, as long as you say yes first.

  • A second photographer

Added to the half day, so one of us can stay with your guests while the other has the two of you.

  • A printed album

Lay-flat, linen or leather, made after you've chosen the frames from your gallery, not before.

  • Parents' albums

Smaller copies of your album for the people who'll keep them on a shelf for forty years.

  • An engagement shoot

Added to any collection that doesn't already have one: an hour, a few months before the wedding.

  • Prints and frames

Ordered straight from your online gallery and sent to your door, printed by the same lab we use.

How paying works

Wedding photography is usually booked a year or more ahead, so it helps to know exactly when money changes hands. Ours runs in three steps, and the agreement writes all three down before you pay anything.

  1. A quote for your day

Once we know the date, the venue and the hours, we send the collections priced for that day, with travel and any extras already in the figure. The quote holds for thirty days.

  2. A deposit holds the date

You sign the agreement and pay the deposit, and the date is yours. Until both are back, we keep the date open, because holding it for one couple means turning another away.

  3. The rest, a month before

Pay the balance in one go or spread it out however suits you, as long as it's settled a month before the wedding. Albums and extra prints are paid when you order them, after the day.

If something changes, the date, the venue or the plan, tell us early. A moved date carries the deposit across when we're free, and a smaller day can move to a smaller collection. How we cover the day itself is under Weddings, the smaller days under Elopements and Engagements, and every frame we'd show you is on the light table.

Questions about the collections

Why don't you show prices?

Because the same collection can be two different jobs. A full day at a Pokolbin vineyard with a two-hour drive each way isn't the same as a full day five minutes from the studio, and a Friday in July isn't a Saturday in October. Tell us the date, the place and roughly how long you want us, and we'll send the collections priced for your day, in writing, with everything listed.

Can we build our own collection?

Yes. The four collections are where most couples start, not a fixed menu. If you want the full day without the engagement shoot, or the half day with a second photographer and an album, tell us and we'll put it together. The only thing we won't do is shoot a full day alone: one photographer can't be at the front and the back of a ceremony at once.

Are weekdays or winter weddings any different?

They're quieter, and that's reflected in what we quote. Fridays, Sundays and weddings from June to August are easier to fit in, so if your date has some give in it, tell us and we'll show you what it changes. Winter light in the Hunter is low and golden most of the afternoon, which suits photographs very well.

What's in a printed album?

Thirty to sixty pages of the frames you choose from your gallery, printed lay-flat so a photo can run across both pages without a seam. You pick the cover from linen, leather or a printed photo, and we design the layout and send it to you to change as many times as you like before it goes to print.

Can we pay in instalments?

Yes. A deposit holds your date, and the rest can be split into payments of your choosing as long as it's settled a month before the wedding. Most couples pay it over two or three months; some pay it all up front to have it done. There's no fee for spreading it out, and the agreement sets the dates down so nobody has to remember them.

Do you do gift vouchers?

Yes, mostly for engagement shoots, and usually bought by parents or a wedding party. The voucher names the shoot rather than an amount, it's valid for two years, and the couple books the date themselves. It's a good present for people who say they hate having their photo taken; most change their minds within the hour.

Pick a collection.

Send us your date and venue, and which collection you're leaning towards. We'll send it priced for your day, with everything listed.
